The "Venti" news...

Starbucks unveiled a new blend of coffee; Pike Place Roast(named after the company's Pike Place store). A free cup of it was given out this morning-did anyone get by there to try it? Apparently the "secret" got out and some stores served it earlier than supposed to. The new blend is described to be smoother and less intense than their other blends. Baristas will begin hand-scooping brewed coffee and toss out unsold brewed coffee after 30 minutes to maintain freshness. It used to be every hour and I thought that was a waste but 30 minutes?? That's really a waste! I guess as cheap as it is for them to make it and as much as it costs for a cup; they can afford to do this.

Starbucks has been requesting ideas! You can go to their website and leave a comment or look for the little notepads in their stores. Lots of ideas have already been submitted; see if someone shares the same idea as you or add a new one.

My husband doesn't like Starbucks coffee but now with this new blend maybe it will suit his tastes and we both can enjoy our coffee together instead of seperately.

UPDATE: I had my first cup yesterday and it is delish!
